    • We offer a range of cabin styles, including traditional high country huts, modern minimalist designs, and eco-friendly cabins with sustainable features. We can basicly design the cabin to your liking.
  2. What are the advantages of choosing a cabin or tiny home over a traditional house?

    • Cabins are often more cost-effective, energy-efficient, and provide a unique connection with nature. They are also highly customizable to your preferences. and more times than not require little to no permits or council oversight due to thier relocatable aspects.
  3. Can I customize the design of my cabin?

    • Absolutely! We work closely with you to tailor the design to your needs, including layout, materials, and finishes.
  4. What materials are typically used in your cabin construction?

    • We primarily use Steel sub base with a conventional timber stud wall as per the Australian standards. this may however change due to your site location and our engineer will outline this once we begin.
  5. Do you offer off-grid or eco-friendly cabin options?

    • Yes, we have off-grid and eco-friendly cabin options available, including solar power and composting toilets. this is usually discussed more on our intitial site visit.
  6. What is the typical timeline for building a cabin?

    • Timelines vary based on size and complexity but generally range from a 3 - 4 months for the build and a few weeks onsite to install everything like power water and sewerage etc.
  7. How much does it cost to build a cabin with Highland Cabins?

    • Costs vary depending on design, size, and features. We provide customized quotes to fit your budget. Weve built cabins for as little as $25,000 right up to $125,000. it all depends on how far you want to go with it and also your site access. 
  8. Do you provide financing options or assistance?

    • We do provide inhouse finance and are happy to discuss this option with our clients. Terms and Conditions apply.
  9. What permits and approvals are required, and do you handle them?

    • We assist you in obtaining the necessary permits and approvals, making the process hassle-free.
    • Most Councils/ Shires require a Planning Permit which often takes up to 60 days for a response, However the "Purpose of use" of the cabin also determines if a planning permit is required.
    • Some Councils / Shires may want a building permit to form part of the planning permit
    • This always varies and is really based on the "Purpose of use" of your portable building
  10. What is the warranty on your cabins?

    • We offer a 7 year comprehensive warranty on our cabins to ensure your peace of mind if the cabin is fully installed by our team. unfortunatly we can not offer warranty for certain things if the cabin is installed by someone else. Cabins require engineered footings to keep them level and sturdy and any movement in footing will cause issues down the track.
  11. Can I use a Highland Cabin as a primary residence?

    • Yes, our cabins can serve as primary residences STCA, and we ensure they meet local building codes for full-time occupancy. 
  12. What are the maintenance requirements for a cabin or tiny home?

    • Maintenance is minimal but includes regular checks for weather-related wear and tear. We will go over this with you on handover.
  13. Do you provide site preparation services, such as foundation installation?

    • Yes, We handle all site preparation, including foundation installation, plumbing, electrical and any other requirements, as part of our services. We even clear tracks and create access roads if need be.
  14. Can you help me find suitable land for my cabin?

    • While we don't specialize in real estate, we can offer advice and recommendations for land acquisition.
  15. Is it possible to add utilities like water, electricity, and sewage to my cabin?

    • Yes, we can incorporate utilities into your cabin design and assist with their installation.
  16. Do you offer turnkey solutions, including interior finishing and furnishings?

    • Absolutely, we provide turnkey solutions to deliver a fully finished cabin, including interior design and furnishings if desired.
    • Alot of our work has been for AirBnb clients as an investment property, We have completed jobs for interstate clients and fully furnished cabins ready for tenants.
  17. Are there any restrictions on where I can place my cabin?

    • Location restrictions may apply based on local zoning laws, which we will help you navigate.
  18. Do you offer pre-designed floor plans, or is everything custom-built?

    • We offer both pre-designed floor plans and custom-built options to suit your preferences.
